DP1200 Digital Readout

Description

The DP1200 was designed specifically for long travel machine tools.  It includes features that are essential for increasing productivity on boring mills, VTLs, milling machines and long travel lathes.  Built with the operator in mind, the DP1200 includes large, clear numerical displays and an intuitive color TFT message screen along with an optional DSU.

The DP1200 is available in 2, 3 or 4 axes including rotary / angular.

NEW DP700 Digital Readout

Description

The DP700 was designed for all types of machining applications such as milling, turning, boring and grinding. The DP700 digital readout is a powerful yet intuitive DRO that includes a host of standard features that are normally found on more expensive units.

The DP700 digital readout sets the new standard for performance, value and ease of use. Milling, grinding and turning packages are available. Available in 1, 2 and 3 axes.

Newall’s DP500 Digital Readout Systems set the standard for reliability, value and ease of use for turret mills and tool room lathes. The DP500 DRO Mill and Lathe Packages include Newall’s Spherosyn LT or Microsyn LT encoders which are designed to provide accurate readings even under the toughest shop conditions.
 
The DP500 DRO Packages are available in two or three axes for turret mills with travels up to 406mm x 915mm and for two axes lathes with up to 2 meters between centers..
 
All the DP500 DRO Packages offer the same quality and benefits that Newall is known for. The DP500 Packages come with the new Spherosyn LT or Microsyn LT encoders.  These encoders feature the same inductive technology and IP67 rating as Newall’s Spherosyn 2G encoders and will provide accurate and dependable readings under the harshest environmental conditions

Designed to work exclusively with Newall's digital readouts, the Spherosyn and Microsyn encoders embody a truly innovative design in which all of the electronics and measuring components are sealed and protected.

The encoders carry an IP67 environmental rating and will continue to provide accurate, reliable readings even when fully submersed in water, oil or coolant. No other linear encoder matches the durability and reliability of Newall's reader heads and scales.

 

DSG and DMG Encoders
for use with competitive DROs

 

Newall's DSG and DMG encoders were specifically designed to be used withcompetitive brands of DRO displays.  Now you can replace your glass scales with Newall's reliable inductive encoders that are imperious to coolant, oil, dirt and other environmental conditions. 

The DSG and DMG enocders provide a TTL quadrature, 1Vpp or 11µA output and are compatible with most brands of DRO displays:

Absolute Encoders for Feedback for CNC/PLC

Developed to meet a wide range of feedback applications, Newall's Absolute linear encoders provide a true absolute position immediately upon power-up. The encoder does not use batteries or static memory to retain the positional data. True position can be reacquired once power is applied, regardless of duration or power-off movements.

 

The encoder is ideally suited for linear motor and other high velocity measurement applications including CNC/PLC feedback, pick and place machines, automotive transfer lines, packaging machines, PC-based systems and more

RS232 serial communication is typically used to interface with PC "COM" ports. This EIA standard allows for data transmission from one transmitter to one receiver at data rates up to 20K bits/second and distances up to 15m at the maximum data rate. A serial to USB converter is available to allow interface via

This EIA standard meets the requirement of a multi-point communication network, which as standard specifies up to 32 drivers and 32 receivers on a single two-wire bus. SSI
 
 
 
SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) is a patented absolute encoder protocol.
A clock signal is provided by the control and facilitates transfer of absolute position on the data lines. There are several variations of SSI currently available.

Fanuc Serial SHG-AF This is a proprietary absolute encoder protocol. It is used exclusively with Fanuc CNC products that require absolute positional feedback.

 

Incremental Feedback Encoders for CNC/PLC

The SHG-TT is Newall's most popular incremental encoder and is compatible with the majority of CNC controls. The SHG-TT provides a differential quadrature output at RS422 TTL levels. The periodic reference mark is synchronized with the A & B signals.

Newall's incremental linear encoders are compatible with the majority of CNC and PLC controls. A variety of output signals, body styles, and reference marks are available. The encoder selection guide shown below will help with selection of the right encoder for your application.

MCG-TT
The MCG linear encoder provides an ultra-low profile for restricted spaces. Provides a differential quadrature output at RS422 TTL levels. The periodic reference mark is synchronized with the A & B signals. Accuracy/Meter = ±0.0002" (±5µm). Resolutions = 10µm, 5µm, 2µm, 1µm, 0.5µm or 0.2µm.
TTL Differential AB Quad - No Reference DSG-TT For non-servo applications. Provides a differential quadrature output at RS422 TTL levels. No reference marker. Accuracy/Meter = ±0.0004" (±10µm).
