Absolute Encoder

Absolute encoders are position feedback devices that report absolute positional information.

An absolute encoder generates a unique code for each position.

Absolute encoders do not lose position when power is removed.

Since each position is unique, true position verification is available as soon as power is up.

It is not necessary to initialize the system by returning to home base.

In a single turn encoder, the output codes are repeated for every revolution of the encoder shaft.

There is no mechanism to indicate whether the encoder had made one revolution or several revolutions.

All that is output is the relative position. Single turn absolute encoders are used when full range of

positioning in the application is not greater than one full revolution

(360 degrees) of the encoder shaft – an example is rotary table positioning

Incremental Encoder

Incremental encoders work by providing a certain amount of pulses

in the encoder's rotation to give distance and speed feedback for motor applications.The incremental encoder provides specific pulses for the encoder rotation,

and these pulses may be in one or two lines of pulses.

These lines are typically designated as "A" and "B" channels,

and the offset phasing of the channels, which is also known as the quadrature,

helps determine rotation. The signals are created by a sensory array inside a printed circuit board,

and the rest of the incremental encoder includes a spindle assembly and cover.
Incremental encoders are useful for light-duty, heavy-duty and industrial applications.

Manual Pulse Generator and Handwheel Unit

Hand pulse generator is an optical rotary encoder developed for manual pulse input for CNC machine tools, which is also known as electronic hand wheel, MPG handwheel, MPG, hand holding box and so on. Widely used in CNC machine tools for setting the mechanical work origin and manually stepping trimming. The band switch on it is used to select the axis and magnification. Pulses from the pulse generator is to facilitate the acquisition system.
According to the supply voltage, resolution and signal output, it results in a CNC control system applicable to all types of hand-held unit.
With impact resistant shell made of high strength materials, MPG has the function of anti-interference, abrasion resistance and oil-proof. It is suitable for CNC machine tools and automation systems, compatible with a variety of brands of CNC system. A manual pulse generator (MPG) is a device normally associated with computer numerically controlled machinery

or other devices involved in positioning. It usually consists of a rotating knob that generates electrical pulses that are sent to an equipment controller.

The controller will then move the piece of equipment a predetermined distance for each pulse.

    Incremental Type Draw Wire Encoder
    An incremental encoder is coupled to a spring loaded-reel through the use of a mechanical coupling device,
    internal to the housing of the reel. As the shaft rotates, pulses are evaluated and counted by a juding circuit and a
    counter to determine rotating direction and pulses number.The starting point of counting can be set arbitarily,
    infinite accumulation and measurement of multiple turns are achievable. When the number of pulses is fixed,
    by means of A and B signals of 90°phase difference, the original number of pulses id doubled or quadrupled to increase resolution.
