​Dienes Shear Cut Knife Holders / Replacement Only Holders all employ a dual shaft vertical guiding design. This design has proven to be superior for achieving high cutting speeds – up to 12,000 feet per minute.

Our designs employ near zero clearance and in some cases, zero clearance preloaded ball bearings, eliminating any free motion in our guide systems. What does that mean to our customers? Optimal holder performance, reduced instability of the cut point, improved knife life and less headaches for the operator!

• Top Knife Collars

Dienes is a world leader in knife holder technology. Knife collar assemblies are manufactured to the finest tolerances for the perfect slit edge. Dienes manufactures these assemblies in a variety of locking designs including eccentric locking devices where a series of steel balls in conjunction with split rings cause the rings to tighten on a shaft securing the knife holder onto the shaft. Knife collar assemblies are also manufactured as plain bore where locking nuts and precision spacers secure the top knife holder to the top shaft. A third design employs brass tip set screws where the operator merely turns the set screw clamping the top knife collar to the male slitting shaft. Extremely narrow cutting widths may be achieved using this technology. Dienes is the original manufacturer in making custom designs to meet our customer’s needs. When slitting narrow widths and high quality slit edges are important, call Dienes for all your slitting converting needs. Knives are sold separately from the collars/holders.

Pneumatic brakes are the brake of choice in the converting industry and are widely used on unwinders and in various applications.

An innovative axial fan ventilation system helps decrease the temperature quickly, leading to reduction of pad wear and increased web tension quality, compared to brakes without a cooling fan. The Combirex CX250 is a mono-disc, multi-caliper air cooled brake. It reaches a maximum torque of 960 Nm and a power dissipation of 4,5 kW.
