Description

PPT-280 is the new generation of smart proximity probes used for  non-contact measurement of the shaft vibration and position. The sensor is designed with integrated linearization electronic in order to ensure excellent linearity and active temperature compensation. The built-in oscillator tuned above 750kHz ensures measurement with minimal magnetic run out effect.

The PPT-280 can be used either for measurement between 0.2mm and 2.2mm or 0.2mm and 4.2mm. The voltage output is directly proportional to the measured distance between the metal target and the sensor tip. The sensor can be powered either with -24V or +24V depending on configuration or ordering code.

The embedded sensor head is resistant to shock. The sealed body is resistant to oil and water on both sides of the sensor.

Optional PPT-990 configuration kit (software, cable and USB adapter) allows to setup measuring range, power supply type (+24V or –24V) and target material and to perform on-site recalibration. 

Two transducers PPT-380 and PPT-480 complement the smart proximity probes products range. Eagle PPT-380 is designed with a modbus interface for digital communication of vibration parameters such as pkpk or gap and a digital output for alarming. Eagle PPT-480 converts vibration parameters (pkpk or gap) into a scalable 4..20mA analogue output. Both transducers can be configured using PPT-990 configuration kit.

 MC-m provides also API-670 compliant proximity probes for industrial applications.

Description

Linearized velocity sensors are designed for low frequency vibration monitoring and its sensitivity is clearly bigger than standard piezo-velocity sensor in low frequencies. Therefore, its application is strongly recommended for the monitoring of hydro turbines running below 300RPM. 

Based on electrodynamic principle, the sensor provides signals directly proportional the vibration velocity amplitude.  

The sensor is available with linearization electronic for frequency measurement from 0.5Hz, and without electronic for passive measurement from 10Hz

Two sensor types are available for horizontal and vertical application respectively. The sensor can be supplied with integral cable or IP68 connectors. 

 

Why and when choose the LVS?

Depending on the application, or rather the frequency of the signal to be measured, the LVS is more suitable. For frequencies below 100Hz, it provides a much larger signal than a conventional piezoelectric accelerometer, as you can see from the graph on the right.

Description

Description

Since 2012, MC-monitoring has been developing its own modular rack-based acquisition system product family. The system is perfectly well adapted for the machine protection and condition monitoring of any rotating machines. 

The system has been primarily developed for the monitoring of hydro generators. The system performs shaft and bearing vibration according to ISO-7919 and ISO-10816 including advanced monitoring functions such as harmonic and phase calculation. It can also perform airgap, magnetic flux, endwinding and runner clearance monitoring. 

Used in combination with the SCD-200 (Signal Cable Driver), PMS-300 performs also roller bearing monitoring and on-line diagnostic using BCU (Bearing Condition Unit) and enveloping methods. 

PMS-300 product family consists of different modules:

Airgap monitoring

Description

Airgap monitoring measures the distance between rotor and stator of generators (hydro generator, GMDs, windmills,...). Rotor and stator shape and location are affected by operating centrifugal, thermal, and magnetic forces. Off-center or out-of-round conditions might reduce operating efficiency. In more severe cases, they might lead to damage from magnetically induced heating or rotor-to-stator rub.

GEARLESS MILLSDRIVES SOLUTIONS OVERVIEW

Gearless mill drives

A gearless millsdrive system comprises: the synchronous ring motor, the three converter transformers, one excitation transformer and the harmonic filter banks, as well as the E-house containing the cycloconverter and control, the motor control centre, the programmable logic controller control system, the converter transformer protection, the fire detection and suppression system and the dual air-conditioning system. Gearless millsdrive are equipped with frozen charge protection and the airgap is monitored by air gap sensors.*

 

Hydrogenerators

A power station is where water flows though turbines using hydropower to generate hydroelectricity. Power is captured from the gravitational force of water falling through penstocks to water turbines connected to generators. The amount of power available is a combination of height and flow. A wide range of Dams may be built to raise the water level, and create a lake for storing water. Hydropower is produced in 150 countries, with the Asia-Pacific region generating 32 percent of global hydropower in 2010. China is the largest hydroelectricity producer, with 721 terawatt-hours of production in 2010, representing around 17 percent of domestic electricity use.*

 

Windturbines

Wind turbines can be used to generate electricity in areas with strong, steady winds, sometimes offshore. Many different designs have been used in the past, but almost all modern turbines being produced today use a three-bladed, upwind design. Grid-connected wind turbines now being built are much larger than the units installed during the 1970s. They thus produce power more cheaply and reliably than earlier models. With larger turbines (on the order of one megawatt), the blades move more slowly than older and smaller units, which makes them less visually distracting and safer for airborne animals.*

Since 2012, MC-monitoring has been developing a 4-channel monitoring system PMM-300. The system is perfectly well adapted for the machine protection and condition monitoring of any rotating machines.

The system has been primarily developed for the monitoring of hydro generators. The system performs shaft and bearing vibration according to ISO-7919 and ISO-10816 including advanced monitoring functions such as harmonic and phase calculation. It can also perform airgap, magnetic flux, endwinding and runner clearance monitoring. 

The system is equipped with 4x 4..20mA outputs, 4x relays, 13 digital outputs and one modbus RTU interface.  The module can be configured via TCP/IP using specific configuration software. The configuration software includes a realtime module for data visualisation.

PMM-300 can be connected to CMS-500 database for data recording.

Product Name :Magnetic flux monitoring

 

Description
Magnetic flux monitoring measures the flux of each rotor poles to detect defaults in the magnetic field homogeneity. Such failure can be explained by short-circuit in a specific pole. This failure can reduce the operating efficiency or generate high vibrations due to magnetic unbalance. Hall effect sensor shall be used for the monitoring of generator with a large number of poles (GMDs or hydrogenerator)

Description

MC-m is commercializing magnetic field transducers in order to bring more values for our customers. Magnetic Field Transducer MFT-100 is based on hall-effect and is therefore well suitable for the monitoring of hydrogenerators or ring motors. The sensor can be powered using standard power supply or directly from the MC-monitoring’s data acquisition units without additional hardware. The sensor head is resistant to temperature up to 125°C and is interchangeable.

Description

Online partial discharge measurements detect failures in the stator winding insulation in operation. These measurements can be taken either periodically with a portable partial discharge analyzer or continuously with a permanently installed monitoring system. Partial discharge monitoring is applicable on large hydrogenerators or on turbogenerators
