Stand alone and modular motion controllers

The compact motion controllers RP2, RP0 and RP1 are Robox's push products. They've been designed with the aim of best exploiting the distributed electronics such as drivers and remote I/O.

RP2 is the top of the range and should be employed for sophisticated and high-speed applications, with a high number of axes to be controlled. It permits to fully exploit the performance of the EtherCAT fieldbus, as the data exchange rate can reach 2Khz (500us)
Thanks to the WIFI connection is possible to run the integrated web server directly throught mobile phones
Furthermore the WAN connection allow INDUSTRY 4.0 technologies.
In the Bus slave version (AS1018.012) it can be inserted in a Profinet LAN.

RP0 is employed for sophisticated and high-speed applications, with a limited number of axes to be controlled. It permits to fully exploit the performance of the EtherCAT fieldbus, as the data exchange rate can reach 1Khz (1000us)

RP1 is employed in the great majority of applications. Even in presence of a high number of axes it can ensure a data exchange rate of 500Hz (2ms).

All the controllers can be expanded with Expansion I/O Modules using the integrated AXIOLINE comunication.

Embedded operator terminals

The RHMIs are operator's terminals based on the ARM fanless processor.
They are ideal to realize simple but complete operator's interfaces aimed at
rendering the use of the controlled machine by the final customer
as simple as possible. A dedicated software tool RDT permits to interact
with the connected Robox motion controller through the BCC3 protocol on TCP/OP
support, both to exchange variables and up/download files.
These terminals also install an integrated remote servicing tool which
renders their access via Internet very simple and fast.

Robox AGV Line 

Robox employs an "inertial" guidance system to control the AGVs movements.

Required on board hardware:

  • a Motion Controller

  • a gyroscope (RGM) measuring its angular orientation on a plane

  • a magnet detection device RHAM

  • an odometric system able to measure its movements.

Through these signals the vehicle can run programmed paths and adjust its position with a precision higher than 1 cm.

Required on board software:

  • AGV handler: it controls the AGV navigation and auxiliary operations
    It can handle different geometries: from the simple fork lift to the tank and to the 4 steering drive wheels geometry.
    It is installed in the motion controller compact flash.

Software required on the PC:

  • AGV MANAGER: it handles the AGV missions and diagnosis.
    It communicates with the AGVS through radio modem or WIFI

  • RAT: Graphic tool describing the paths to be run by the AGV.
    It outputs a file used both by the AGV handler and by the AGV manager

The advantages of the inertial guidance, compared with the laser guidance, are the following:

The inertial guidance permits a highly precise positioning through the signals output by the magnets. The laser guidance is particularly recommended in environments with a regular plant, free from vertical obstacles, particularly if very complex pathes must be run. Any plant type can be approached with the inertial guidance, the same is not true for the laser guidance.
