COALSCAN

Historically the COALSCAN has been Scantech's flagship.

The first analyser sold by Scantech was the COALSCAN 4500. Since then,  the best selling analyser has been the COALSCAN 3500, of which more than 100 have been installed all over the world.

The COALSCAN range of analysers has now evolved into the widest range of online coal analysers offered by any company in the world.

Scantech understand the importance of the COALSCAN to your process control. That's why above all other factors, COALSCANs are built to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Reliable, accurate and dependable.

GEOSCAN

The GEOSCAN is an On- Belt Elemental analysis system for monitoring bulk materials such as limestone and iron ore.

It can be used on a very wide variety of applications, with automatic bed depth correction included as a standard feature.

The GEOSCAN continuously analyses conveyed materials in real time, providing accurate results as often as every one minute for demanding process control applications. Since the GEOSCAN fits on existing conveyor belts, additional sampling equipment, transfer points and material handling equipment are not required.

The GEOSCAN utilises the technique known as Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA). The GEOSCAN incorporates high efficiency detectors and state-of-the-art digital spectrometer, which overcomes the limitations of conventional, low efficiency detection systems.  The optional moisture analyser uses the microwave transmission technique to measure the moisture content of the material.

GEOSCAN – C is used in cement industry applications such as stockpile building and raw mix proportioning. The world’s major cement companies are successfully optimizing their plant operations using this technology.

GEOSCAN - M is used for minerals applications including ore and concentrate analysis. Units are currently installed in iron ore, manganese and copper mining and processing operations to provide real time, full stream analysis for process control. The multi-element analyses are transmitted to the control system as weighted averaged dry weight percent through the use of belt weigher and moisture analyser inputs.

CM100

The CM100 Coke Moisture Monitor is a direct, on-conveyor monitor for measuring moisture in conductive materials.

It is particularly suited to measuring the moisture content of coke and materials such as metallic concentrates.

Experience has shown that the Fast Neutron Gamma Transmission technique is capable of measuring moisture to within about 0.3 wt% (at one standard deviation) for bed depths ranging from about 100 mm to more than 400 mm.

All users are attracted to the ease of installation and reliable operation of the CM100, which now means that there is an increasing emphasis on the CM100 to provide a quality control solution.

TBM200

The TBM200 Series of moisture monitors are the result of Scantech's many years of experience developing microwave technology.

They are easy to install, commission and calibrate, and provide accurate results and stable, hassle-free operation.

Microwaves are transmitted through the belt and the process material to the receiver above the belt. Measurement of microwave phase shift and attenuation enables determination of moisture content. The technology is not affected by vertical segregation, as the microwaves pass through the total bed depth and measurements are independent of material size and belt speed.

CIFA350

The Carbon in Fly Ash Monitor provides significant benefits to coal fired power stations:

  • rapid, precise, real-time information
  • no need for accurate sampling, weighing or measurement of evolved gases
  • independent of coal source or particle size
  • non-destructive test

On-line information is a considerable improvement compared to traditional 24 hour sampling followed by laboratory analysis. Real-time results are reported whilst they are still relevant to plant conditions.

This prompt information enables:

  • rapid optimisation of mill and excess air settings
  • optimisation of the combustion process
  • mill performance monitoring
  • improved fly ash quality, leading to increased sales to the cement industry

The Carbon in Fly Ash Monitor 350 is the latest in a series. The monitors use a microwave interrogation technique, which relies on different responses of carbon and the other particulate matter in the gas stream to determine the amount of carbon present.

The monitor is designed to connect to an industry standard isokinetic sampler. A sample of fly ash is collected from the flue gas duct and is fed into a sample tube, where the fly ash is vibrated to ensure optimum packing. The sample tube feeds the sample to the analysis zone. Once sufficient sample has been collected, the microwave analysis takes only a few seconds.
