Die platzsparende und damit einfache Einbindung wird zudem durch den Wegfall einer Schubstange unterstützt. Aus seiner sehr guten Linearität (bis zu 0,02%FS), seiner hohen Auflösung (bis zu 5 µm) und der SSI Schnittstelle ergibt sich die sehr hohe Präzision der digitalen Version vom PMS. Die Elektronik mit dem magnetostriktiven Wegelement befinden sich im geschlossenen und abgedichteten Sensorgehäuse mit Schutzart IP67. Dadurch ist ein sehr geschützter Aufbau erreicht worden, der die Integration des digitalen PMS auch in sehr rauhen Umgebungsbedingungen zuläßt. The position evaluation of the magnetic cursor is transformed contactless into a linear analog signal 0,1..10,1 V or 4..20 mA. The magnetostrictive measurement principle is true power on with high sample rates up to 1 ms and delivers absolute values in high accuracy.
