Inside the sensor housing the glass scale passes an electronic board with optical detector which generates counting pulses in TTL or Line Driver level up to 1µm resolution. Due to the glass material the measurement is very temperature stable.

For rough environmental conditions we recommend mounting the sensor in overhead position. A drip edge and a special cover under the sled prevent ingress of dust into the sensor. To ensure high accuracy and long lifetime for a good price performance ratio the potentiometric measuring principle is realized with a high-resolution conductive plastic resistance element. Since the potentiometric measuring principle delivers absolute values and requires no electronic conversion, the position feedback signal is true power on without delay, temperature stable and robust against EMC influences.
