Founded in 1898 by Eiichi Okuma in Nagoya, Japan, Okuma Noodle Machine Co. initially manufactured noodle-making machines. Displeased with the quality of lathes available in Japan, Okuma pivoted to designing and producing machine tools. In 1918, Eiichi established Okuma Machinery Works Ltd. and introduced the OS lathe. With over a century of history and expertise, Okuma has become a global leader and innovator in machine tools, particularly lathes. Their CNC machine tools span lathes, machining centers, multitasking machines, and grinding machines, offering customers precision and reliability they can trust.
