Series KM701 force sensors are double bending beam sensors and characterized by its tight shape and its easy way of fastening. It could be fixed with 2 screws at any flat and stabil ground. Force application is vertical to sensor-axis.

The mechanical detection of linear movement is done by a magnetic drag. Due to magnetic coupling the drag pulls the wiper sled inside the tube which contains the resistive sensor element. This inside cursor construction provides wireless movement of the magnetic drag and pretends ingress of dirt or dust to the sensor element. On that way IP67 protection is reached for rough environmental conditions. For easy and space saving installation the tube contains a flange construction in fitting gauge or with thread. The flange permits also installation in hydraulic cylinders with pressures up to 250 bar (450 bar peak). To ensure high accuracy and long lifetime for a good price performance ratio the potentiometric measuring principle is realized with a high-resolution conductive plastic resistance element. For facilitating electronic integration the HEME series is equipped with an electronic signal converter board inside the flange head. Instead of delicate reference voltage a simple 24VDC±20% power supply can be used. The analog signal is provided in the typical form with 4…20mA. In comparison to the pure potentiometric transducer the E-version keeps quite well the true power on function and temperature stability and is EMC approved. The dimensions of the HEME version is only changed in the 5mm longer flange head to the standard version

With defined force the wiper presses with a small pin the flat plastic layers of the Sensorfoil element to generate a potentiometric signal according to the pin position. Due to the closed waterproof Sensorfoil element a high protection class IP65 is reached. The flat rail dimensions and the slider construction provide a space saving integration. To compensate angular or vertical misalignment, a ball joint can be mounted on the wiper sled. Customization in terms of special measuring lengths, and cable assembling are available on request.
