Applications

Measuring the torque in a pulley of an agricultural machine during operation.

Measured values are transmitted wirelessly from the rotating pulley to a stationary receiver unit. Wireless and without sliding contacts is the power supply of the measuring system in the pulley as well.

The pulley deforms slightly under the influence of the torque. 

These deformations are measured with a suitable electrode arrangement and with our capaTEC® nano-procedure and is then converted into torque feedback. 

This technology provides a better signal resolution compared to the classically used strain gauges, and does not have all the disadvantages such as high temperature drift or poor applicability
 

Overload Warning

Monitoring of the tilt moment of commercial vehicles

It is used in Telehandlers, Construction and Agricultural Machinery.

Thanks to its reliability and simple installation, the measuring system 
capaTEC® nano is ideal for monitoring stability of machines with loads on telescopic booms.

The overload warning device measures deformation of the rear axle caused by the tilt moment in real time and warns in time before the critical load is reached.

As soon as a critical point is reached, the driver is immediately visually warned via his display as well as audibly that a dangerous condition has occurred. Once the tilt moment has been reached the hydraulic system is automatically switched off

MEASUREMENT THROUGH THE CONTAINER WALL

  • The fill level switch detects the surface of the liquid without contact, through the container wall and the machine housing. Any air gaps between these components have no influence on the measurement results.

IMPERVIOUS TO TEMPERATURE AND MOISTURE INFLUENCES

  • The basic measurement principle is independent of temperature and humidity. These often lead to malfunctions with conventional capacitive sensors.

REJECTION OF DROPS/CONDENSATE

  • The special assessment algorithms of the EBE fill level switch enable differentiation between a solid liquid column and drops or condensate adhering to the container. Even drops on the interior of the container will not lead to an erroneous measurement.

BIO-FILM DETECTION

  • If a container has become contaminated with bio-film due to inadequate cleaning, the effects of this will be rejected through the innovative algorithms and will not lead to erroneous measurement results. The presence of bio-film can be reported back to the device controller.

NO FLOAT

  • The capacitive measurement principle uses no moving parts and in particular avoids having to use problematic floats. As a result the tank can be designed in a more visually attractive manner without any disruptive float shafts. Malfunctions due to floats that have become jammed as a result of chalk deposits can therefore be completely eliminated.

PRESENCE DETECTION - EMPTY CONTAINER

  • The new type of 3D measurement principle enables reliable detection and signalling of the empty container without additional elements.

INSENSITIVE TO CONTACT WITH THE CONTAINER

  • The fill level switch does not react to hands touching the container. This often led to a malfunction with conventional capacitive sensors.

Capacitive and inductive sensors

With induTEC® and capaTEC® EBE offers two basic technologies for the measurement of position and angle, ideal for integration into customer systems.

Both technologies operate contactless and wear-free. By using special structures on the PCB as sensor elements a high-precision measuring system is created for price-sensitive applications.

Particularly in target-markets such as „Automotive“ or „White Goods“ it is possible to conveniently apply the sensor structures to the existing PCB. The high level of integration in your application enables sensor applications in systems, previously considered to be infeasible due to cost reasons.

Characteristics of our sensor systems: virtually unlimited life cycles, extremely robust, outstanding precision and reliability.
While the capacitive measuring system provides a slightly higher resolution, the inductive system is particularly suitable for applications in humid environments.

Inductive sensors based on the induTEC ®-principle use PCB inductors.The magnetic field generated by the coil system induces eddy currents in the target which in turn interact with the coil system. This interaction creates a measuring signal.

The capacitive measuring principle capaTEC ® for measuring position and angle functions on the basis of changes of the capacitor plates in the engagement area. As a result, the total capacity changes and this information is used to calculate the position or angle respectively.

EBE enabling switches with magnetic brackets are hand-operated command devices.


They were designed for operation in danger zones around machines and systems. In "manual" mode, the protection afforded by movable safety partitions is cancelled under certain circumstances. Authorised personnel can enter danger zones when the enabling switch is actuated. Thanks to the switching mechanism no special evaluating device is necessary for the EBE enabling switch.
