The sensing strips consist of two layers of rubber, one with conductive and one normal insulating rubber. A copper wire embedded in two separated layers of conductive rubber together with a resistor at the end of the sensing strip, forms a closed circuit. If the separated layers are pressed together there is a short-circuit, the control unit react and its outputs release. In the same set hammer the control unit reacts to an open-circuit in the cable or in the sensing strip's copper conductor. Several sensing strips can be easily connected in series. Up to 100 m of sensing strip can be connected to one control unit.

GELBAU - OPTIMA
Optima is a new generation of clamping strips designed to simplify clamp protection. By a new technique, screw the end plug and do not use glue.
At the Optimalist, the reaction angle is extended to 180 degrees for optimum sensitivity, and in combination with the contact surfaces on the foot end, the Optimalist responds immediately after 7.5 mm or 14 mm at 200 mm / s.
An ingot copper wire in two separated layers of conductive rubber forms together with a resistance in the end of the clip, a closed circuit. If the separated layers are pressed against each other, a short circuit occurs, the control unit responds and its outputs fall. Similarly, the control unit responds during interruption of the cable or clamp strip copper conductor.
Several clamping strips can easily be connected in series and it is possible to connect up to 100 m clamping strip on a control unit.
It is available in several sizes to fit, for example, different types of doors or doors.

Small control unit for the monitoring of sensing strips in less dangerous applications. It fulfils safety category 1 which means that it may only be used in applications in which the risk of injury is only for slight, normally reversible injuries. If there is any doubt select one of the control units on the following pages. A low current is transmitted from the unit's connectors (Z1 & Z2) through the sensing strip, and a closed circuit is formed via a resistor (8.2 kΩ). The control unit output cuts the power if anyone/anything presses the sensing strip and also following a short-circuit or open circuit.

The Gelbau Quadro-Profile is used primarily in the field of local public transport, where it is installed as a safety feature for the closing edges of passenger doors in buses and trains. The EPDM profile can be used only in conjunction with a sealing profile. It is simply pushed into the hollow chamber of existing or newly developed sealing profiles. The profiles have a diameter of 18 mm or 22 mm, and require a sheath-profile with a hollow compartment minimum diameter of 21.5 mm or 25.5 mm. The profile is characterised by a high level of sensitivity.
