The position evaluation of the magnetic cursor is transformed contactless into a linear analog signal 0,1..10,1 V or 4..20 mA. The magnetostrictive measurement principle is true power on with high sample rates up to 1 ms and delivers absolute values in high accuracy. A special feature of the magnetostrictive method is the great tolerance in mechanical offset up to ±2 mm in vertically and horizontally position of the free magnetic cursor.
